Back-to-School Events

Each Summer, FGT is in Back-to-School mode and public events are on the calendar! Each offers fun and the chance to support a local business, all while helping a student in the Bay Area.

July 20th - Westgate Center Mall

On Saturday, July 20, our team will host a collection event at Westgate Center Mall.

From 12 PM to 2 PM, stop by and see us! We'll be handing out swag and sharing information. You can either bring donations from the Supply List or pick up a backpack tag, shop for the items, and return to donate a supply-filled backpack to the 2024 Back-to-School Drive!

July 25th - The Tech Interactive

Thank you, educators!

We'll be our friends at The Tech Interactive in San Jose next Thursday, July 25, for their Educator Open House! All educators and up to three guests get free entry for the day to enjoy the festivities. All you need is a valid school (or educational organization) ID.

The day will be jam-packed with fun activities, including a free showing of The Tech's new IMAX film of the summer, T.Rex, and a showcase and reception with Tech Academies fellows.

FGT will be participating in the resource fair, so make sure you stop by and see us!

July 26th - Comedy Sportz San Jose

Funny Athletes, or Athletic Comedians?

Ever wanted your favorite athlete to crack a joke instead of missing the winning shot? We have. And thanks to our friends over at ComedySportz, now's your chance to experience it!

ComedySportz is an award-winning interactive comedy event where two teams of players compete for points and laughs while improvising scenes based on audience suggestions.

And because funny people have huge hearts, the July 26 show will serve as our Back-to-School fundraiser night. They will also collect backpacks and school supply donations at their event for the remainder of the month.

July 27th- Jenn's Ice Cream Social

Meet, greet, eat and give!

Stop by the Community Hub on Saturday, July 27, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM to enjoy some cold, creamy confections or a cold drink, and learn more about the 2024 Back-to-School Drive. Meet Jennifer, our founder and Queen Elf, who, in the spirit of the back-to-school season, encourages all who come to donate new school supplies or backpacks to support Bay Area students.

August 2nd - Grit and Glory

Kirk White's Big Time Wrestling

Our friends at Kirk White's Big Time Wrestling are lending their strength to us again for the 2024 Back-to-School Season.

During their highly anticipated Grit & Glory special on Friday, August 2, they will accept donations of new, unused backpacks and school supplies from the 2024 Supply List.

And, to sweeten the deal, wrestling legend Rikishi will host a meet-and-greet from 6 to 7:30 p.m! Make sure to get your tickets now!
